An early prototype, this was a project for learning.

🎞️ Simple first-person combat

You control a first-person turret on an aircraft, and you shoot down enemy aircraft that spawn in waves.

Separately destructible parts

I made a system where you can shoot the wings off enemy aircraft.

Good lessons

I got some great experience working on this project. One lesson I learned is how fast-moving objects are poor for simulating bullet-like projectiles due to inconsistent collisions, at least with default physics properties. Going forward I would try utilizing options like continuous collision detection or raycasting. I also learned how to aim and rotate in 3D space.
